After School Tutoring Support for Students with SEN in Mainstream Schools Programme
Teachers help children tackle difficulties and stimulate their interest in learning.
Children learn how to take turns, accept winning or losing and respect others through games, at the same time building friendships with their peers.
Service objectives
- Reinforce the learning foundations of children with SEN through homework tutorial in all subjects so that they can manage the stress of studying and be more motivated in learning
- Strengthen children’s social communication and emotional management skills so that they are well prepared to overcome the challenges in their academic pursuits
- Equip parents with the knowledge of the characteristics of children with SEN and essential parenting skills; help them relieve parenting stress
Service scope
- Provide comprehensive homework tutorial in a small group setting complemented with teaching the children learning methods
- Introduce “social communication training sessions” to strengthen children’s social communication and emotional management skills.
